Growing Truman Connections, St. Louis
Growing Truman Connections brought together influential alumni and friends from the great St. Louis region for the fourth consecutive year. The event has sparked numerous initiatives supporting Truman’s enrollment, retention, and fundraising efforts, including entrepreneurial speaking engagements, hosted gatherings, internship opportunities, and stronger relationships between alumni and Truman faculty and staff. This year, a new fund that helps offset the costs for students who are completing an internship in the St. Louis are was established and has already secured more than $40,000 in support thanks to the generous attendees of this event.
About the Award
The Initiative of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding event, activity, or initiative that advances the mission of the Truman Stat University Alumni Association by fostering and strengthening lifelong relationships with Truman. This award celebrates initiatives that bring the Alumni Association’s three pillars to life: connecting alumni with one another, connecting alumni with the University, and connecting others with the University.
Nomination Criteria
Eligible initiatives may be one-time events or ongoing efforts that support alumni and the greater Truman community and demonstrate significant impact during the award year (July 1-June 30). Initiatives hosted by Alumni Association Chapters and Clubs are encouraged, but eligibility is not limited to these groups. Nominations may be submitted by anyone.
