About the Distinguished Corporation/Foundation Award
Corporations, businesses, foundations, and organizations have discovered that investing in Truman State University is also investing in their future, and the Corporation/Foundation Award recognizes corporations, foundations, and organizations for exemplary support to the University and its students. Some examples of collaborative efforts include recruitment of Truman interns and graduates, participation in lectures and seminars, intellectual exchanges, research alliances and financial support. The award is presented at the Truman State University Foundation Banquet held on campus each year.
Mastercard
The University is proud to present the 2025 Distinguished Corporation/Foundation Award to Mastercard. Mastercard powers economies and empowers people in 200+ countries and territories worldwide. Together with their customers, they are building a sustainable economy where everyone can prosper. They support a wide range of digital payments choices, making transactions safe, simple, smart and accessible. Their technology and innovation, partnerships and networks combine to deliver a unique set of products and services that help people, businesses and governments realize their greatest potential.
Mastercard encourages employees to engage with their community while building a purpose-driven workforce. In addition to the company’s variety of community engagement opportunities across the globe, employees in the U.S. have 40 hours/5 days each year for volunteering. Some Truman State University alumni at Mastercard have dedicated these hours to supporting student recruitment, school support and engagement, on-campus and remote speaking opportunities to classes and clubs, serving as mentors and judges for the annual Bulldog B.I.T.E. innovation pitch competition and serving on the various boards that support the University. Alumni working at Mastercard have also served as Bentele-Mallinckrodt scholars and as speakers on the topics of business and cybersecurity in the annual Tru-Biz Business Forums.
A philanthropic partner for Truman, company employees and matching gift programs have provided nearly $50,000 to the University through the Mastercard Impact Fund. Both Mastercard and the Mastercard Impact Fund are recognized as members of Truman’s prestigious Corporate Pershing Circle.
