The Medical College Admission Test® (MCAT®) is administered through the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), and Truman offers the MCAT exam throughout the year.
First thing to know, you need to prepare for the MCAT outside of your premed courses. The required courses such as biology, chemistry, and physics will prepare you to study; they do not prepare you to sit for the MCAT without additional study, review, and practice, practice, practice. AAMC recommends that you purchase the Official MCAT® Self-Assessment Package to find out just what competencies you are lacking before you begin your studies.
The key to success on the MCAT is to understand and answer the questions very quickly. Truman students have reported repeatedly that practice exam scores are higher than their actual exam scores. Thus, one must not rely on the practice exam scores as a reliable indicator. Also, one should practice both exam questions and exams from various sources: Do Not Rely on one source for all your study materials.
