(Please note: department approval and a billing account number are needed before submitting a registration form.)

All fields on the Sponsored Student Spreadsheet are required. Failure to fill out the Sponsored Student Spreadsheet completely or accurately may result in a delayed approval time. Questions about any of the required information should be directed to Residence Life.

Please ensure your students do not register themselves. This will help avoid any complications related to incorrect billing.

Early Move-in Check-in Process

Please note, Residence Life staff will be in training and preparing for hall opening during the early arrival time frame, and as such residents who are brought on campus by a sponsor for an early move-in date will not have access to the same level of assistance provided on the traditional move-in dates.

Sponsors bringing new Truman students to campus early need to be able to provide extra support and assistance with their students’ move-in. Having additional staff on hand, playing an active role in answering questions or addressing problems, and planning ways to be present in all buildings students are moving in are all ways that sponsors can create a welcoming experience for new students that isn’t possible otherwise.

Sponsors and their sponsored students will still have access to the following resources:

  • Moving equipment placed in an easy-access location in each residence hall
  • Walk-in assistance from Residence Life staff at our Central office in Missouri Hall 1100
  • On-call assistance from residence hall staff via the duty phone number listed on each check-in packet

By requesting an early move-in date for their sponsored students, all sponsoring departments/organizations agree that they are responsible for supporting their students’ move in.

Pick up your Key

Please ask your sponsored students to arrive during normal business hours (8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday) to pick up their keys and move-in materials at the Residence Life Office (Missouri Hall 1100). The building will be locked; please ring the doorbell at the front entrance of Missouri Hall or contact the office (660-785-4227) to gain entry.

For students unable to move-in outside of normal business hours, please contact Residence Life at reslife@truman.edu so that arrangements for checking in can be made.

Scheduled Maintenance and/or Outages

Please note the last two weeks prior to First-Year student move-in will be utilized to complete projects and make finishing touches in preparation for the Fall semester. While there are no service maintenance/outages scheduled at this time, there may be some disruptions to services during your time as an Early Arriver.

Should a maintenance issue or outage be necessary, we will communicate this with your sponsored students as soon as possible so they can make appropriate arrangements.

Residence Life and Physical Plant staff may need to enter rooms as part of opening procedures through August 15th. Staff will knock and announce themselves prior to entering a room.

If there are normal maintenance issues in your students’ living spaces, please direct them to submit a Work Order to the Facilities team.
