Please note: The Room Selection process operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Time slots for returning residents will open based on credit hours earned by December 31st. Time slots for new residents will open based on the date their housing application was completed.
To see your time slot, visit the Housing Deposit & Timeslot Status page of your Housing Application in the Housing Portal.
You will have access to select a room on your timeslot day starting at 8:00 am. You and your mutually agreed and accepted roommate should consult with one another to determine who has the earliest room selection timeslot, as whoever has the earlier timeslot will be able to select the bed/room for BOTH students. It is important to talk to your roommate about who will be selecting the room, where you would like to stay, and what room type both of you would like.
On your timeslot day, one person in each roommate pair will select a room for you and your roommate by following these steps:
- Log into Truview
- Click “Accepted Student” under Tools
- Click “Accepted Student Tools”
- Click “Access the Housing Application” under Housing Information
- Click “Student Login”
- Go to the “Room Selection Overview” page. Read all the information listed before continuing on to the “Room Selection” page
- On the “Room Selection” page you will be able to view open rooms based on location or room type
- Once you have found a room, click “Add to Cart”
- Click “Assign Beds” after you have assigned yourself and your roommate to a bed space
- After you have selected your room, please finish the housing application by selecting your meal plan. Each member of your group will need to independently log into the housing application to select their own meal plan and finish their application
- You will be able to review your application at the end and view the housing profiles of your roommates and suitemates
As a reminder, in order to select a room, you will need to have a paid housing deposit, a completed application, and a timeslot. If you have an accepted roommate, they will have to have all of these as well for you to be able to select a room with them.

February 15, 2024 – Same Room Selection Day
All students currently living in on-campus housing will be able to select their same room assignment for the following year on Same Room Selection Day regardless of the type of room they are currently assigned.
Students living in a Double or Triple Room will need to have accepted enough roommates to fill the remainder of the room before the same room can be selected. The roommate you have paired with does not need to be the same roommate as you currently have.
February 16, 2024 – Displaced Student Selection Day
Some rooms are not available for same-room selection. If this is the case, you will be notified by Residence Life via email, and will be allowed to select a new room on Non-Same Room/Displaced Student Selection Day earlier than students who will be selecting a new room based on credit hour.
February 21 – March 20, 2024 – Room Self-Selection
|Assigned Time Slot||Credit Hours as of December 31.|
|February 20 @ 8:00am||75 Credit hours or more|
|February 21 @ 8:00am||45 Credit hours or more|
|February 22 @ 8:00am||30 Credit hours or more|
|February 23 @ 8:00am through March 20||Any returning student may select a housing assignment|
March 21, 2024 – Students that have completed a Housing Application but have not found a roommate and/ or selected a housing assignment will be automatically assigned a roommate/ housing assignment through the auto-room allocation process.
Complete your Housing Application and Submit Your Deposit – Be sure to do this at least 24 business hours prior to your self-selection timeslot to ensure your timeslot is assigned in time for you to self-select your space when your timeslot opens. It can take at least 24 hours for your housing deposit to be processed. If you currently live on campus, your housing deposit will carry forward; you do not need to resubmit your housing deposit if you are a current student living on campus with a housing deposit on file.
Single Room Self-Selection – These spaces are the most popular. Single rooms are likely to be completely taken within the first day or two of room self-selection.
Triple Suites – If you would like to live in a triple suite, you will need to request and accept two roommates. You will be able to self-select a triple suite if you have two accepted roommates.
Double-Buyout Self-Selection (BO-Double Suite) – These spaces are already pre-designated and current double rooms will not be changed to a buyout space during the room self-selection process. Please be aware that the price of a single room and a double-buyout room are different. Look at the Room Type to see if it is single or double buy-out which is listed as BO-Double Suite. Housing rates can be found HERE. There are no buy-outs available in Campbell Apartments.
Living Learning Communities – If you are a new student and wish to live in one of our Living Learning Communities, you will need to select which LLC you are interested in on the “Living Learning Community Interest” page in the housing application. You will be able to self-select a room in the LLC on your timeslot day.
Accept a Roommate Before Room Self-Selection – Be sure to request and accept a roommate prior to attempting to self-select a double room or a double apartment. Single students cannot select a room with more than one bed space. If you would like to live in a triple suite or triple apartment, you will need to request and accept two roommates. If you are the first person to complete the room selection between you and your roommate(s), you will be able to select the bed/room for you AND your roommate(s). It is important to talk to your roommate(s) about who will be selecting the room, where you would like to stay, and what room type you would like.
Pet Housing – Students interested in Pet Housing must complete the Pet Housing section in the housing application and upload all registration documents. Once Residence Life has received and processed your documents, you will be able to self-select a room. If Residence Life receives your application/documents after self-selection has ended, you will manually be assigned to a room. If you and your desired roommate are interested in a deluxe double room, you will both need to go through the Pet Housing section. One of the students will not be able to bring a pet and will need to select, “I am interested but I will not be bringing a pet.”
