Jeramey Dockery

Jeramey Dockery enters his ninth season as coach of the defensive line, a place that he battled in the trenches for the Bulldogs during his Truman playing career. Dockery is also in charge of the team’s strength and conditioning program.

The Bulldog defensive line has earned a reputation of being on of the top lines in the GLVC and midwest region with several multiple all-conference selections and a stingy rush defense. In 2022, Ben Miller and Robert Greco took up two of the five first-team all-GLVC conference spots on the defensive line with Greco get all seven of the coaches votes for the spot. It was the third straight year Greco was named to the all-GLVC team. Only two opposing running backs broke the 100-yard rushing barrier during the season.

Dockery had three players in 2021 earn all-GLVC honors with Robert Greco picking up where he left off with first team honors for the second straight season. Michael Neisler and Ben Miller also were named to the all-league honor roll. The 2021 Bulldogs held opponents to under 100 yards rushing per game and the fewest rushing yards per game since the 1963 season.

In 2019 and the four-game 2020 season, the Bulldog defensive line continued to be a dominate force in the GLVC. Sam Reeves became only the fifth Truman player and first since 1965 to be named first team all-conference for four consecutive seasons. Reeves left Truman as the all-time leader in tackles for loss (60) and quarterback sacks (40.5).

In the 2020 spring season, three of the four defensive linemen were named first team all-GLVC. They were Robert Greco, Kendrick Scarbrough and Alec Devecchi.

2018 saw Reeves earn his third straight first team all-GLVC honor at the defensive end position. Reeves holds the Truman career record in tackles for loss with 46 and is one back of the all-time sack record with 31 entering his season year. Reeves finished the 2018 season with 43 tackles, 14 for loss and nine sacks. Jake Floyd was a second-team all-GLVC defensive lineman with 39 total stops and eight tackles for loss.

In 2017, defensive ends Sam Reeves and Isaiah Hinton were both selected to the all-GLVC team. Reeves finished with 16 tackles for loss and 11.5 quarterback sacks to garner first team accolades and Hinton added 6.5 TFLs and 4.5 sacks to be an honorable mention. It was the second straight year Reeves had been a first-team honoree.

Dockery’s unit accounted for the majority of the 2016 record setting sacks and tackles for loss. Reeves earned first team all-GLVC honors after finishing third in Truman single-season history with 16 tackles for loss and tied for fourth in sacks with 10.5. Reeves counterpart on the other side, Isaiah Hinton was an honorable mention all-GLVC member and fellow lineman Kyle Leckrone was named to the all-league second team.

In his first season at his alma mater, Dockery’s defensive line had two players earn second-team all-GLVC. Senior Nick Reichert and sophomore Brian Craft were named to the all-league’s list after helping the unit rank second in the GLVC in scoring defense and first in scoring defense. The Bulldogs had 79 tackles for loss and 23 quarterback sacks in 2015.

Dockery was no stranger to the all-conference list as a player having earned the award twice during his four years as a letterwinner (2009-13). During his senior season, Dockery finished with 70 total tackles, including 7.5 for loss and 2.5 sacks. He had two fumble recoveries and was tied for ninth in the GLVC in tackles for loss per game.

For his career, Dockery finished with 171 total tackles, 20 for loss and seven sacks. He came to Truman via Flower Mound, Texas where he was a two-year starter that earned first-team all-District both years.

Dockery got his coaching career started as a graduate assistant at NCAA-II program Southwest Minnesota State and was a sports performance specialist in Southlake, Texas.
