2021 Season: Started 12 games and pitched in relief in two more…leader of the staff in innings thrown at 63.1 with 33 strikeouts…picked up a win at Maryville on March 16, going the distance and allowing only three unearned runs, while striking out a season-high five in a 5-3 Bulldog win…tossed eight innings and allowed just one run but took the loss in a 1-0 extra inning affair against Lindenwood on March 20…named to the Academic All-GLVC team.

2019 (Freshman Season): The freshman pitcher made 19 appearances last season and started in 6 games…with an ERA of 4.52, she pitched 1 complete game and ended the season with only 10 walks and 28 strikeouts…she was named GLVC Academic All-Conference.

High School
As a junior for the Wildcats of Mt. Olive High School, Kernich showed her versatility as she racked up 60 at-bats in the box and 127 innings pitched in the circle ... at the plate, Kernich hit .333 (20-for-60) with five doubles, two home runs, 14 RBI, 14 runs scored, a .429 on-base percentage, a .517 slugging percentage, 10 stolen bases in 11 attempts, and a .355 clip with runners in scoring position ... in those 127 frames as a left-handed hurler, Kernich finished with a 2.31 ERA, 143 strikeouts to 45 walks, and an opponent batting average of .241 ... the four-year starter/letterwinner was first-team all-conference for both the MSM and PSC in 2016 and 2017 to go with a Third-Team All-State nod in 2016 ... in 2015, the southpaw was second-team all-conference for MSM, honorable mention for PSC and won the Mt. Olive High School Golden Glove Award ... was a three-sport athlete as she also competed in basketball and volleyball ... started and lettered all four years for volleyball and lettered as a freshman in basketball ... secretary for the National Honor Society.
