KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - Two games told two completely different tales, but in the end, the Truman softball win streak moved to 12, as the Bulldogs improved to 6-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play with a Friday afternoon sweep of Wisconsin-Parkside at the Truman Softball Park.

The Bulldogs (14-3, 6-0 GLVC) pounded the Rangers (0-6, 0-2 GLVC) by a 17-0 score in a five-inning, run-rule abbreviated opener, before UWP had the winning run just 60 feet away but couldn't score, allowing Truman to win 7-5 in nine innings in the finale.

Kindra Henze was the pitcher of record in both games, running her mark to 8-1 this season and lowering her ERA to 0.50 after tossing eight innings of scoreless ball between the two games. Andrea Klipsch posted back-to-back four hit games and totaled seven RBI, while Kelsey Bollman added six hits, and Jessica Van Nostrand brought home five RBI.

Truman's win streak reaches a dozen, becoming the longest in ten full seasons since an 18-game streak put together from Feb. 25 – March 23, 2004.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday at 12 p.m., hosting Lewis (Ill.) in a pair of games at the Truman Softball Park.

Game 1 Recap – Truman 17, UW-Parkside 0 (5 innings)
The Bulldogs scored in all five innings, pounding out 19 hits and touching home 17 times in a 17-0 blanking of the Rangers in game one of the twin-bill.

Truman scored just one in the first, but quickly lit up the scoreboard with four in both the second and third innings to stake a 9-0 lead. Then, the Bulldogs posted a seven-spot in the fourth before scoring one more in the top of the fifth for the 17-0 final.

Every Bulldog starter recorded at least one hit, led by four hits and four RBI by two-hitter Andrea Klipsch. Kelsey Bollman and Alexis Van Nostrand added three hits each, while Jessica Van Nostrand and Liz Leath piled on two hits apiece. The 'Dogs recorded four doubles and three home runs, while going a perfect 4-for-4 stealing bases.

Henze struck out five in five innings, allowing just three hits on 73 pitches.

Game 2 Recap – Truman 7, UW-Parkside 5 (9 innings)
Game two looked to be following a similar script as game one, as the Bulldogs jumped out with four runs in the top of the first behind a Klipsch RBI single, a Jessica Van Nostrand RBI walk, a Leath fielder's choice RBI, and a Caroline Gatti RBI groundout. A Cate Simon RBI single in the second pushed Truman's lead to 5-0, but the Bulldog offense went stagnant for the next seven innings.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs' Kelsea Dorsey was cruising until four straight hits in the bottom of the fourth by UWP closed Truman's lead to 5-4. Then, in the seventh, the Rangers tied the game on a sacrifice fly, but reliever Henze got an inning-ending groundout to send the game to extra innings.

Neither team mustered anything in the eighth, before Truman loaded the bases with one out in the top of the ninth. Danielle Lewellen grounded into a fielder's choice that cut down a runner at the plate, but Klipsch delivered a key two-RBI single back into center, plating two and giving Truman a 7-5 lead. Henze then struck out the side in the home half of the ninth to preserve the Bulldog victory.

A second straight four-hit game by Klipsch led all players, while Bollman and Simon also recorded three knocks. Dorsey pitched six innings, striking out five and giving up five runs, while Henze threw three innings of relief, striking out six and walking just one.
