KIRKSVILLE - - Isaac Gardner hit seven three-pointers – part of a school-record 18 for the Truman men's basketball team – as the Bulldogs continued their strong December on the offensive end with a 110-54 victory against Faith Baptist (Iowa) on Monday night in Pershing Arena.

The Bulldogs (7-2) turn right around and hit the road on Tuesday night, visiting NCAA Div. I Indiana State for an exhibition contest at 7 p.m. in Terre Haute, Ind.

Truman trailed 2-0 early, but a quick run gave the Bulldogs a lead that they would not relinquish for the rest of the night. A 51-point first half was backed up by a 59 point second half for Truman, as the Bulldogs shot 61.1% from the field and hit 18-of-34 three-point attempts at a 53% clip. Gardner's seven came on nine attempts from long-range, as the senior added three two-point field goals and a pair of free throws to finish with a game-high 29 points from the floor. Four other Bulldogs – sophomores Kyle Kanaskie and Cory Myers, senior Reed Mells, and junior Andrew Vander Zwaag – also finished in double-figures offensively, with both Myers and Mells distributing six assists apiece.

The Bulldogs etched their way into three single-game program record columns on Monday night, as, beyond the 18 three-pointers breaking the previous-high of 16 set in 2002 at Central Missouri, Truman also shot the fourth-best percentage in single-game history and totaled the fifth-most assists (28) in the Bulldog program.

Truman, now winners of six straight, have been red-hot from the floor this December, posting a 4-0 record so far this month with an average of 101.8 points per game. The Bulldogs are shooting 60% from the floor overall and 50% from three-point range, having connected on 51 triples this month alone.

For the second straight outing, everyone who saw the floor played, as 11 Bulldogs recorded minutes on Monday night. Vander Zwaag led all Bulldogs with six rebounds, while both Kanaskie and Gardner finished with three swipes apiece.
