KIRKSVILLE - - The No. 24 Truman volleyball team's three seniors put the Bulldogs on their collective backs and made Senior Night one to remember, as the purple and white capped the 2014 regular season with a 3-1 (-19, 26-24, 22-25, -15) victory against Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday night in Pershing Arena.

Truman (25-3, 17-1 GLVC) got a season-best 22 kills and 17 digs from Allie Brak, a 54-assist and 10-dig double-double from Meghan Zimmerman, and a team-high 19 digs from Abby Moser to clinch a Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division solo title and carry the conference's top record into next weekend's GLVC championship tournament. The Bulldogs will face the East Division's No. 4 seed – Southern Indiana (19-10, 9-9 GLVC) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, in East Peoria, Ill., at the EastSide Centre.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 3-0 first set lead, before UMSL (16-11, 11-7 GLVC) rattled off 6-0 and 5-0 runs to eventually take a 13-7 lead. Truman would rebound though, as the 'Dogs turned a 15-9 deficit into a 21-16 lead behind a long serving run by Zimmerman. The Bulldogs would eventually hold on for a 25-19 win.

Set two saw Truman build an 18-13 lead, before the Tritons went on a 10-3 run to go on top, 23-21. After the teams battled to 24-22 UMSL, Truman forced an attack error and got one of Kayla Bastian's 16 kills on the night to knot the set at 24-all. Abby Heise served an ace out of an UMSL timeout, before Bastian and Walters tag-teamed a double block to go up 2-0 in the match.

Truman trailed 10-9 following the intermission, but a quick 6-0 burst put the Bulldogs back on top, 15-10. UMSL would slowly chip away, however, eventually drawing even at 20-all, before the squad scored the final four points of the set for a 25-22 victory that forced a fourth frame.

Another tight start to the fourth set saw Truman lead 12-11, but a 5-1 spurt forced the first UMSL timeout of the set at 17-12. Behind Bastian's serve, the Bulldogs kept cruising, building the lead to 22-12 before UMSL could side-out. The Bulldogs would eventually go on to close out the match with a 25-15 decision.

For the match, Truman hit a collective .262, led by Brak's .432 hitting line with 22 kills and just three errors on 44 swings. She added 17 digs and two block assists for 23 total points, while Bastian added 18.5 points behind 16 kills (.200 hitting), three block assists and a solo block.
