KIRKSVILLE - - For the second straight night, the Truman State University men's basketball team imposed its will on both ends of the court – shooting 58% and turning 14 turnovers into 20 points – to pick up a 95-50 win against Faith Baptist (Iowa) on Tuesday evening.

The Bulldogs (7-0) got out to a slow start, allowing the visiting Eagles (5-7) to hang within 10 points at the 4:50 mark of the opening half. However, Truman scored nine straight to end the half before pouring in 16 of the first 24 points of the second half to build a 60-33 lead with 14:29 to play in the game. The margin was never closer than 25 the rest of the way, as Truman's bench stretched the lead to its max at the final horn to win by 45 points.

Mike Carlson scored 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting (2-3 3FG, 7-7 FT), with Seth Jackson (15), Cole Myers (13), and Kyle Kanaskie (10) all hitting double-figures. Jackson added a team-high six rebounds – including three on the offensive glass – while both Myers and Reed Mells handed out four assists.

The Bulldogs also continued to improve on its conference-best assist-to-turnover ratio, posting 23 helpers to just six miscues on the night. Eight different 'Dogs tallied multiple assists in the game.

For the game, Truman shot 57.6% overall (34-of-59) from the floor, including an 11-of-20 (55%) mark from three-point range. The Bulldogs also connected on their first 16 free throw attempts on the night before finishing 16-of-17 (94.1%) from the charity stripe. Truman out-rebounded FBBC 37-21 overall and added five blocked shots to the ledger.

The 7-0 start for this year's Bulldog squad matches the best by any Truman team since the 1999-2000 campaign. This year's unit becomes only the ninth in 94 seasons of Bulldog men's basketball to start a season with at least seven consecutive victories.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday afternoon at the Quincy Holiday Classic when they face Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference member Hillsdale (Mich.) at 3 p.m. The Chargers are 3-3 on the season.
