Volleyball Shuts Out S&T, 3-0

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - Ali Patterson hit .400 with 11 kills, six digs, and four blocks, while Allie Brak added a 10-kill, 12-dig double-double to propel the 17^th-ranked Truman volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Missouri S&T on Friday night in Pershing Arena.

The Bulldogs (15-5, 9-1 GLVC) ran their winning streak to nine and remained atop the GLVC West Division in the fast sweep of in-state foe S&T (10-9, 6-4 GLVC). Truman handled the Miners by set scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 25-16 to close out the match in one hour, 11-minutes.

On the night, Truman hit. 190, putting down 38 kills with 18 errors on 105 total attempts. Only five Bulldogs recorded kills, with Patterson and Brak joined by Abby Heise (6), Jessye Maurer (6) and Emilee Walters (5) in the offensive category.

Setter Meghan Zimmerman finished just shy of a double-double with 32 assists and eight digs, while libero Abby Moser paced all players with 16 digs on the back line. The Bulldogs also recorded five blocks on the night, led by Patterson's four and Heise's two.

Truman kept S&T off-balance with its serving all night, dealing seven aces with the Miners complying by also committing nine service errors. The Bulldogs also sided-out at a 60% clip, compared to 41% for S&T.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday (Oct. 19) night at 7:00 pm when the squad hosts Drury (10-10, 5-5 GLVC). The Panthers defeated Quincy in four sets on Friday night.
