KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Bulldog offense rolled up 516 yards of total offense and scored the most points in over a decade as Truman steamrolled Northwestern Oklahoma State University 63-21 in front of a capacity Family Night crowd at Stokes Stadium. Truman moves to 3-0 for the first time since 1994 and have won five straight dating back to last season.

Truman had four scoring drives of just one play as the Bulldogs struck quickly against the Rangers. Will Mosquera put the 'Dogs on the board early with a 23-yard run after Eric Phillips had pinned Northwestern Oklahoma deep with his first punt of the night.

The Bulldog defense forced a quick three and out and Dallas Grier returned Rangers' punt to the their own 23 when Mosquera rushed untouched to the endzone at the 12 minute mark of the first quarter.

Northwestern Oklahoma would answer that score with a methodical 10-play, 81-yard drive capped off by a 14-yard pass from Kyle Jech to Jeramiah Anderson.

The Bulldogs other leading rusher did not want to be outdone as Garrett White ripped off a 46-yard run to put Truman back in front however a 24-yard pass from Jech to Anderew King near the end of the first quarter tightened things up again.
Jech completed 36-of-55 passes for 336 yards but it was the second and third quarters that the 'Dogs owned both offensively and defensively.

Conrad Schottel tossed four straight touchdown passes to put the game out of reach. Schottel found Grier in the corner of the endzone to put Truman up 21-14 then hit tight end Chico Orlando on a 17-yard pass near the end of the first half for a two touchdown advantage.

The Bulldogs forced a fumble on the second half kickoff and Schottel wasted little time finding Orlando on a 15-yard pass play and a 35-14 lead.

After a quick three and out, the Bulldogs ran their second play of the half as Schottel and Grier connected for a 60-yard catch and run to make the score 42-14.

White would score from two yards out in the third quarter for his second TD on the night.

Jech would end the Rangers scoring drought with a run of his own to start the fourth however Kurt Loyd raced in from 52-yards away and Tracy Milo scored from seven yards out to put the icing on the win.

Truman used 12 different ball carriers on the night for 43 attempts and 270 yards. White finished with 10 carries and 88 yards while Loyd finished with 69 yards and Mosquera 58.

Grier had his biggest receiving day as a Bulldog catching eight passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

Phillips had five punts for a 48.0 yard average with four inside the 20, two downed inside the one and a long of 55.

The Bulldog defense recorded five sacks and 12 tackles for loss, while Richie Schumacher led the squad with 12 tackles. Earl Jackson and Steven Day each had fumble recoveries for the Bulldogs.

The 63 points were the most points scored by a Bulldog team since they put up 69 in a September 14, 2002 victory over Quincy (Ill.) University.

Truman has won their first three games to start the season since the 1994 campaign in which they won their first eight and have won five in-a-row since the 2001 season.

The Bulldogs will return to conference action on Thursday night when they travel to Warrensburg to face the 2-1 University of Central Missouri Mules. Central was a 35-28 victory at Lindenwood (Mo.) University on Saturday night. The game will be featured on CBS Sports Network as part of the NCAA Division II Game Of The Week package and will pit two of the charter members of the MIAA against one another for the 96th time in the 100th year of the conference.

Kickoff off from Warrensburg is set for 7:07 p.m.
