Box Score

KIRKSVILLE - - The Truman women's soccer team had its chances, taking 18 shots and putting nine on target, but couldn't break a scoreless draw with Northwest Missouri on Thursday afternoon, tying the Bearcats 0-0 in double overtime at Bulldog Park.

After playing to a relatively even first half, the Bulldogs (1-2-2) dominated the rest of the way with possession, taking 13 shots in the second half plus four more in the additional 20 minutes. Two of the team's greatest chances came in the waning minutes, as junior Olivia Hayes hit the crossbar with her attempt in the 88th minute before junior Kelsey Twellman saw her shot in the 89th saved by NWMSU (2-1-2) keeper Kelsey Adams.

The Bulldogs earned six corner kicks and put up their first shutout of the season, as both Jayne Grisham and Emily Bozdeck saw time in goal for the 'Dogs. Grisham's diving save in the 44th minute helped preserve the draw, as she put 60 minutes of time in frame before Bozdeck's relief in the 61st.

Hayes (5) and sophomore Suzanne Pelley (4) took half of Truman's shots.

The Bulldogs head to No. 25 Central Missouri for a Saturday night match in Warrensburg. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm in a match that will not count towards the MIAA standings. Thursday's draw with NWMSU also did not count in the MIAA.
