HAYS, Kan. - - The Truman softball team ran into a hot swinging Fort Hays (Kan.) State squad on Saturday afternoon, as the Tigers blasted their way to 12-0 and 8-0 wins at blustery Tiger Stadium.

FHSU (26-20, 11-11 MIAA) jumped out to quick leads in both games, picking up a 6-0 edge in game one's first inning before building a 4-0 lead through two innings in game two. From there, the Tigers never looked back against Truman (20-24, 4-14 MIAA), who dropped its seventh and eighth straight games.

Kelsey Bollman (Maquoketa, Iowa, Maquoketa), Katie Pitts (Jefferson City, Mo., Helias High School) and Bridget Schade (Herculaneum, Mo., Herculaneum) had two hits each between the two games, but the Bulldog offense couldn't get sustained offense going against FHSU's Maddie Holub and Kayla Rupa. The Tigers countered with 13 hits in both games with all four Bulldog pitchers seeing action.

Truman returns to action on Sunday afternoon at noon against Washburn (Kan.) University in Topeka, Kansas.
