KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Junior forward Breanna Daniels was a third team selection to the all-MIAA women's basketball team for the 2010-2011 season, while senior guard Amy Galey and sophomore forward Jennifer Conway were both named honorable mention.

Daniels led Truman in scoring during the regular season with a 12.9 points per game mark and was the team's leading scorer 14 of the 26 games play. She recorded the most single-game points by a Bulldog this season with 26 in the second game of the year against Nova Southeastern (Fla.). She played and started all 26 games and 52 of the last 53. Daniels has been the team leader in field goal percentage (.369), three-point field-goal percentage (.326) and three-pointers per game (1.7). Daniels was an honorable mention pick as a sophomore.

Galey dished out 109 assists to rank fourth in the MIAA regular season and her 231 assists moved her into 10th all-time among Truman players.  She consistently averaged around seven points per game while also averaging as many as 5.8 rebounds per game this season as a point guard. Galey became the first Bulldog to record 10 assists in a single-game since Amy Eagan in 1998 in a loss at the University of Nebraska-Omaha in January.

After a slow start, Conway finished third on the team in scoring (8.8 ppg) and was ranked 14th in the conference in rebounds per game at 6.0.  Since returning to the starting line-up on Dec. 29th, Conway has averaged 11.3 points per game including a season-high 17 points on consecutive nights against Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Omaha.  Conway also had six regular season games in which she grabbed over 10 rebounds with a high of 14 coming on Jan. 8th against Northwest Missouri and again on Feb. 12th against Nebraska-Omaha.

It was the first time since the 1998-99 season that three Bulldog women's basketball players had been selected to the all-conference team.

Game Preview:

The Truman women's basketball team returns to Kansas City and Municipal Auditorium for the MIAA postseason basketball tournament for the first time since 2008 and will try to knock off top seeded Northwest Missouri in the first game at noon on Friday afternoon.

The Bulldogs and the Bearcats will meet for the 64th overall but just the first time since the 1973 MAIAW state tournament in postseason play. Truman will also be attempting to be the first number eight seed to knock off a number one seed in women's tournament history. The last three years in the men's tournament, the eight seed has beaten the top seed and advanced all the way to the title game.

Northwest enters the tournament winning their first outright regular season championship after clinching the title on Wednesday night against Southwest Baptist. The Bearcats suffered a bit of a let down as they fell in Joplin to Missouri Southern on in the season finale 70-62.

The Bulldogs are 4-4 in their last eight games and find themselves in the eighth seed after a 71-62 loss at home to the University of Central Missouri. A win by Truman would have put them in the seventh seed and a game against Washburn.

Sophomores Becka McHenry and Jennifer Conway have averaged over 11 points per game over the past five contests while the team's leading scorer, Breanna Daniels is third with a 10.4 points per her last five. Overall Daniels is scoring at a 12.9 points per game clip.
