Bulldogs Rain Threes' In Victory Over Central Methodist

KIRKSVILLE, MO. – The Bulldog women's basketball team used the long ball to throttle Central Methodist University on Saturday afternoon by a score of 108-55. Truman tied the school record for three-pointers made in a game with 15 and broke the record for three-point field goal percentage as they shot a blistering 62.5% from beyond the arc.

Senior Jenny Dorman (Pella, Iowa, Pella) had a career-high 19 points on six made three pointers and freshman Allie Norton (Bloomington, Ill., Central Catholic) notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists in the victory.

Truman starters, who saw limited action in the second half, built up a 39-11 lead just past the midway part of the first half. Breanna Daniels (Ridgedale, Mo., Hollister) had eight early points and Jennifer Conway (Waterloo, Ill., Waterloo) had 10 of her 12 points in the first half as the Bulldogs went into the locker room with a 59-19 lead.

The Bulldogs shot 60% from the field overall while going 15-of-24 from three.

The Eagles were led by Sammie Gathercole, who scored 20 points on four three-pointers.

Truman will play their next 22 games against NCAA Division II opponents with their first test coming on Tuesday night against regional rival Quincy University at 5:30 p.m. in Kirksville.
