Box Score | Season Statistics

OMAHA, Neb. – The Truman women fought back to erase an 11-point second half deficit but Nebraska-Omaha's Jamie Nash scored nine points in the final five plus minutes to give the Mavericks a 78-74 victory over the Bulldogs on Wednesday night.  Amy Galey became the first Bulldog player to record 10 assists in a game since Amy Eagan in 1998.

UNO (5-6 overall, 2-5 MIAA) grabbed the first swing of momentum with five minutes left in the first half.  Carly Cator knocked down a pair of free throws following a flagrant foul called against the Bulldog's Cassie Hunt on an inadvertent elbow to send the Mavericks on an 11-4 run to end the first half with a 39-29 lead.

Heather Pohl gave UNO their largest lead two and a half minutes into the second half as the Mavericks went up 44-33.  Pohl finished with 20 points on four made three-pointers.

Becka McHenry, Breanna Daniels and Jennifer Conway grabbed the mojo back for the 'Dogs (6-5 overall, 4-3 MIAA) as they proceeded to score nine straight points and 25 of the first 36 of the second half to take a four point lead with 10:23 remaining.

Nash struck first at the 5:47 mark as she scored on consecutive possessions to give UNO a 60-59 lead. Truman grabbed the lead back when Galey dished her 10th assist of the night to Nicole Gloor but Nash capped off a 4-0 run with a basket at the 4:32 mark.

Nash broke the back of the Bulldogs with a three-pointer with 1:28 left to give UNO a 72-68 lead. The sophomore scored 11 of her 16 points in the second half.

The Mavericks, the top free throw shooting team in the MIAA, made 13 of their 15 attempts and all six in the final 40 seconds to preserve the win.

Daniels had 23 points while Conway and Galey each recorded their first career double-doubles.  Conway had a career high 12 points and 10 rebounds while Galey scored 10 to go with her 10 assists and six rebounds.  Nicole Gloor added 10 off the bench.

The Bulldogs will return home for three straight games beginning on Saturday night with Northwest Missouri at 5:30 p.m.
