EVANSVILLE, Ind. –
Meg Heveroh and
Jahmia Harley swam in the A-Finals in their respective events as the GLVC Swimming & Diving Championships moved into the penultimate day of the event.
Heveroh qualified sixth in the 500 freestyle and then broke the five-minute barrier in the final with a time of 4:57.90 to place fifth overall.
Emma Harris placed 12
th overall and swam in the B Final with a time of 5:05.24. Truman had
Taylor Graham and
Abby Bomball in the C-Final with Graham finishing 19
th (5:12.12) and Bomball 22
nd (5:15.60).
Harley nabbed the final spot in the A-Final by two-tenths of a second and then bettered that time but could not better her position with an eight place finish in a time of 57.02.
Natalie Nguyen was in the B-Final and finished 16
th (59.31) and Kyle Strobl was 18
th in the C Final (59.44).
Chloe Myers earned a B-Final ticket in the 100 breaststroke and finished 14
th overall with a mark of 1:05.28.
Sidney Durbin was the first to touch the wall in the B-Final of the 200 butterfly as she swam 2:09.22 which was good for ninth overall.
A.J. Kohler represented the men's team in the 200 butterfly and placed 13
th overall with a time of 1:49.77.
The night wrapped up with the 200 free relays.
Emily Traube, Myers, Strobl and Heveroh placed sixth with a time of 1:36.34.
Drake Durbin,
Alex Burkhardt,
Cameron Lee and Kohler placed eight at 1:23.99.
The final day of the championships will begin with the prelims of the 100 free, followed by the 200 back, 200 breast, the 1650 free and close with the 400 free relay.
