Tim Walston has been the Dean of Science and Mathematics at Truman State University since 2017. Prior to that, he was a faculty member in the Biology Department. His Ph.D. and early career research focused on genetic pathways that regulated embryonic development and morphology. However, since 2009, his primary scholarly focus has been on developing mechanisms to support underrepresented students in earning STEM degrees. This work has been supported by over $2.5 million in National Science Foundation funding.
