Rachel Kempf is a screenwriter and filmmaker who publishes books and makes horror movies in Kirksville, MO with her husband, Nick Toti. One of those movies, It Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This, has played over 100 screenings across 12 countries in indie theaters, regional horror festivals, DIY art spaces, a bunch of Alamo Drafthouses, the Toronto International Film Festival, and some guy’s driveway. Her most recent movie, Scary New Year, was written as her 2010 master’s thesis for her MA in English here at Truman. Three months after wrapping that movie shoot, she came back here to teach English and Creative Writing. Life is cute sometimes.
