Dr. Paul Grobey

Conductor and violinist Paul Grobey is Assistant Professor of Orchestra and Upper Strings at Truman State University (Kirksville, MO) beginning fall 2022. He previously taught at Keene State College (Keene, NH) and Bucknell University (Lewisburg, PA). Paul completed his graduate work at Ithaca College (MM) and the University of Texas at Austin (DMA). His major teachers have included Julia Bushkova and Faina Podolnaya (violin) and Jonathan Pasternack, Jeffery Meyer, Gerhardt Zimmermann and Peter Bay (conducting). Passionate for a wide range of repertoire, his doctoral research focused on the orchestral music of Leevi Madetoja.
He has previously guest conducted the Austin Symphony Orchestra, the Auburn Chamber Orchestra (Auburn, New York), the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon, the Ithaca College Contemporary Ensemble, the Redeemer Choir (Austin), and the Butler Opera Center at the University of Texas.
