Meghann is a sociologist with interests in medical sociology, deviance and social control, culture, and consumption. She teaches classes in sociology and criminal justice studies. Recent research projects include the study of (a) the medicalization of hoarding and how hoarding is defined, detected, and "treated"--or sanctioned--in Boston; (b) the changing stigmatization of drug use over the course of the opioid crisis; and (c) the meanings of household clutter through an analysis of "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo."
