Liz Jorn has been a member of the Health and Exercise Sciences faculty at Truman State University since the fall of 2000.  She is currently an Instructor and teaches the following courses:

ES 250 Practicum in Exercise Science

Liz is the advisor for students pursuing the Sport and Recreation Management concentration.  Liz is also actively involved in the planning and supervision of the internship/practicum program for Exercise Science. 

The Advanced Sport Management course emphasizes service-learning.  For example, students work with the Kirksville Parks and Recreation Department to plan events for the community.  Past events have included: self-defense workshops, Hershey’s Track Meet, Aquafina Hit, Pitch and Run, Earth Day, Back Yard Bash, Family Fishing and a 3-on-3 soccer tournament.  

Liz is the Faculty Athletics Representative representing Truman in GLVC and NCAA. Liz is the chair of the GLVC Steering Committee and a member of the NCAA Academics Requirements Committee. 

Liz serves on many university committees including The  Athletics Advisory Committee, The Student Athletic Advisory Committee,  Truman Week and Athletics Hall of Fame.  Liz is also the Advisor for Cardinal Key National Honor Society which is a small service organization on campus.

Prior to teaching in Health and Exercise Sciences Liz was the Fitness/Wellness Director at the Student Recreation Center at Truman. 

On a more personal level:

Liz is from just south of London, England and was recruited to Truman to run track and cross country.  Liz is married to Phil Jorn who is a Counselor at ATSU.  Liz and Phil have three dogs Chloe, Rosie,and Cooper.  When she is not teaching Liz can be found running, traveling, canoeing, watching movies and listening to The Beatles!
