Kandice Grossman joined Truman State in 2024. Prior to coming to Truman, she completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Sociology from the University of Missouri after earning her Ph.D. there in 2022. Prior to her doctoral training, she pursued and completed an M.A. in Economic and Social Studies, with a specific focus on feminist research, from the University of Manchester. Her B.A. consisted of an individually structured major made up of a culmination of history, philosophy, and religion courses. Kandice teaches Introduction to Sociology, Structured Inequalities, Social Institutions, and more. Kandice has a strong scholarly interest in space and place, coalition work across differences, and health equity. She is the author of Sociology of Sexualities (2024) and she has also published articles in journals such as Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities and Case Studies in the Environment.
