Prof. Andrew Greiner grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, and is a proud Truman State alum. After graduating with his BS in Accounting and Master of Accountancy from Truman, he worked in tax at an accounting firm in Des Moines, focusing on income tax return preparation for businesses and individuals. He then earned a JD from Fordham University and an LLM in Taxation from New York University. After law school, he worked at several other accounting and law firms, focusing on tax controversies, state and local taxes, and taxation of damages, settlements, and cryptocurrencies. He also worked in the tax departments at Uber's headquarters in San Francisco and FanDuel Group's headquarters in New York. Finally, he has provided various volunteer services to taxpayers, including through Truman’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, the Fordham Tax Clinic, the SF Bar Tax Clinic, and the US Tax Court Calendar Call program. He is a licensed CPA and attorney and is admitted to the US Tax Court. He and his wife enjoy playing tennis, cross-country skiing, traveling, hiking, and spending time with their dog.
