Since 2020, Ofstad scholars have become an integral part of the intellectual landscape here on campus, teaching entirely self-determined courses to share in the age-old tradition of passing along unique knowledge to the next generation of avid learners. At Truman, Ofstad scholars teach a course in their area of expertise, hold office hours to engage with students, share meals and conversations with faculty, and deliver a public lecture to increase their professional visibility while showcasing their passions.

We invite scholars to stay on campus for a one, two, or seven week block, depending on their preference and availability. This program is designed to provide a creative outlet for dedicated academics, acting as an enticing professional opportunity including a competitive salary, dedicated funds for travel and meals, and private on‑campus housing.
