Public Health Education: Community, Worksite and Public Health Concentration
The Community, Worksite, and Public Health Concentration prepares you to provide and manage health education programs helping maximize and maintain healthy lifestyles on the individual and community level.
Health Educators collect and analyze data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs. They link health systems, health providers, insurers, and patients to address individual and population health needs. They may serve as resources to assist individuals, other health professionals, or the community, and may administer fiscal resources for health education programs.
They work in: Hospitals | Clinics | Schools | Universities | Government offices | Businesses & Health Insurance Companies| Non-profits.
The Community, Worksite, and Public Health Concentration of the Health Science major is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). Requirements and Application Information
Eligible students must apply to be part of the Public Health Education: Community, Worksite and Public Health Concentration
To be eligible for acceptance for the CWPH concentration, a student must meet the following requirements:
- 75 credit hours
- overall GPA of 2.5 or higher
- completion of (with a grade of C or better) HLTH 255, HLTH 270, HLTH 290, and STAT 190
