Lambda Pi Eta

Lambda Pi Eta is a national communication honor society to recognize, foster and reward outstanding scholastic achievement, to stimulate interest in the field of communication studies, to promote and encourage professional development, and to establish and maintain closer relationships and mutual understanding between faculty and students. Membership is open to any Truman student who has completed 45 semester hours of undergraduate work, has a 3.0 cumulative GPA and has completed nine semester hours in communication with a GPA of 3.25 in those courses.

Pi Kappa Delta

Pi Kappa Delta is an honorary fraternity for speech communication and forensics students. All students exhibiting high achievement in debate, competitive public speaking or other communicative events and having achieved excellence in other academic areas are invited to join.

National Communication Association Student Club (NCASC)

The goal of The COMM Club is to promote the study, teaching, and application of the principles of communication through educational and social functions that are relevant to the membership of the club. NCASC is a scholarly society and as such works to enhance the research, teaching, and service produced by its members on topics of both intellectual and social significance. Membership is open to any student at Truman State with an interest in Communication. The chapter at Truman is the only COMM Club in Missouri and one of 13 in the nation.

Advertising and PR Organization

Advertising and Public Relations Club is an organization that offers hands-on experience with on and off campus clients. Part of the club’s goal is to bring in speakers to get professional insights into the fields of public relations, advertising, marketing, and organizational communication.

Ad and PR club is affiliated with the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), a professional network of over 15,500 business communication professionals in over 80 countries.
