This was the most rewarding hands-on experience I have had at Truman. I was able to see what being a social worker would entail, and it gave me good insight into the needs within the Kirksville community at large. With this internship, I was able to conduct home visits with parents and children, attend juvenile court dates, work in the office, help organize the yearly Angel Tree Project, as well as many other interesting tasks. Overall, I would recommend this internship to anyone looking for hands-on experience in the major, specifically for those looking to attend grad school for social work.
