Residence Life is pleased to offer summer housing for Truman State University students. We provide great places to stay while you further your Truman education. Summers in Kirksville are filled with fun experiences for our students, and we’re happy to be a part of that.
For preferred eligibility for summer housing on campus this year, you must either:
- Be enrolled in a May Interim, Summer Session, or August Interim course AND/OR
- Be currently living on-campus as a result of the COVID-19 response and be registered for on-campus housing for fall 2020 and have no other viable housing options through August 15.
Students who are staying on campus this summer but do not have a Fall 2020 housing assignment will need to move out August 1-2, 2020. This will give housekeeping staff time to clean rooms for fall move-in. Charges will be adjusted to accommodate this checkout.
You do not have to be enrolled in coursework each session to stay for each session. Taking one course during one of the sessions is enough to be eligible to stay for any and all the other sessions.

Scheduled Hot Water Shutdown
Each summer the campus steam system is shut down for routine maintenance. The campus steam system provides hot water to some campus buildings, including our residence halls. The annual steam shutdown is scheduled to occur between May 10th and May 14th this year. During this time period, there will not be hot water available to Dobson Hall.
Sunday, May 17th: Hot water not available after 6:00 pm.
Thursday, May 21st: Hot water will return by early evening.
To accommodate your ability to have a HOT shower during the annual steam shutdown, the Campus Recreation Center will be open so you can use the shower facilities during the steam shutdown. The Rec Center has an independent hot water system that is not impacted by the campus steam shutdown. The Rec Center shower facilities will be open Monday, May 11 through Thursday, May 14th from 11:00 am through 1:00 pm.

- The Rec Center will only be open for showers and remains closed for other purposes.
