Meet Owen
Owen is a certified baseball umpire in Iowa, Minnesota, and Missouri! He's worked more than 250 youth baseball games up to the high school varsity level, despite not playing baseball beyond age 11. He's got a cool head too - he has never ejected anyone (player, coach, or fan) from a game.
In high school, Owen was a drum major in marching band! At Truman, he was in the Statesmen Marching Band for four years and served as the trombone section leader. He still regularly plays pickleball with Dr. Curran Prendergast, Truman's Director of Bands.
Owen is a huge podcast listener. (Almost) every weekday for the past three years and counting, he's listened to American Public Media's "Marketplace" and is slowly catching up on a decade's worth of "Freakonomics" episodes.

About:
Owen graduated in December 2023 with a B.S. in Economics and minors in both Business Administration and PHRE (Philosophy and Religion). At Truman, he was involved in Club Tennis, ECO, Statesmen Marching Band, and more. He spent the last two years at Truman working at the Student Recreation Center, his favorite building on campus, where he worked countless hours at the Member Services Desk and taught a fitness class called ""Mobility Flow."
A self-proclaimed 'rules nerd,' Owen loves to watch sports (to analyze the officiating, of course) and watch NBC's Law & Order. He loves to spend time with family: his parents and sister in Des Moines, and his brother and grandmother in St. Louis. He also enjoys listening to and playing jazz and remains active in the Truman State Trombone Choir.
