Delta Sigma Pi Legacy of Excellence

Delta Sigma Pi Legacy of Excellence

ONE OF THE BIGGEST IMPACTS we make, as brothers of Delta Sigma Pi, is the legacy we leave behind for those who follow us. As we approach the 40-year anniversary of Iota Nu at Truman State University, let’s remain united in our passion for leaving a legacy of excellence.

For this year’s reunion (Nov. 20-Dec. 2, 2018), we are creating the Delta Sigma Pi Legacy of Excellence Fund. This fund will provide meaningful, multipurpose funds to the School of Business now and also create a perpetual funding stream for the School in the future.

We have set a goal of $40,000 in gifts and commitments for this effort. The goal was determined because it easily connects in a meaningful way with our reunion year — $40K for 40 Years — but also because we believe this level of funding will provide positive and much-needed impact support to the School of Business.

Interested in making a multi-year pledge?

To help us all think about our ability to contribute in a significant way, we are also counting multi-year commitments toward the goal. That means you have the opportunity to make a pledge over a period of years (typically three to five) that may allow you to consider a larger overall commitment that could be paid over a longer duration. Multi-year pledges can be set up for commitments of $1,000 or more.

For information on setting up a pledge, contact Charles Hunsaker at or 660-785-4028.

More About the Delta Sigma Pi Legacy of Excellence Fund

The Delta Sigma Pi Legacy of Excellence Fund will be established through the Truman State University Foundation. The purpose of this fund would be two-fold:

  • Fund the purchase of student-focused furniture, equipment and related items for common spaces in Violette Hall and the School of Business.
  • Provide a funding source for speakers and professional development experiences for students and faculty of the School of Business.

This Excellence Fund could continue to be used for future projects in the School of Business. The fund could also be used in fundraisers at future reunions. The hope would be for the fund to be permanently endowed.

Naming Opportunities

This fund brings naming opportunities for the fixtures, spaces and events such as “Funding for this speaker was made possible by the Delta Sigma Pi Legacy of Excellence Fund.”

The Deltasig President’s Academy

You can also help sponsor Iota Nu’s future presidents to attend Deltasig’s brand new Presidents’ Academy, an intensive, professionally developed leadership experience being offered to all of the fraternity’s chapter presidents. Its first offering will be in January 2019. The sponsorship of a chapter president will be about $1,000 per year. Iota Nu’s alumni could be among the very first chapters to step up for this, which both speaks to our legacy and helps to ensure it. The Academy has also been championed by Iota Nu’s second Grand President, Onuka Ibe.
