The plan listed below is designed to provide suggestions for sequencing your major courses, but there are also other ways to sequence most majors. This plan is meant to provide aid in early, provisional planning. Please consult with your academic advisor to make strategic academic decisions about which courses to take each semester.

Sample Two Year Plan: Health Science (BS), Community, Worksite, and Public Health concentration

The following plan is possible on the presumption that an incoming student has an Associate of Arts (AA) degree and has completed the equivalent to BIOL 100, PSYC 160, STAT 190 (^),  foreign languageMissouri Statute, and other Perspectives requirements prior to enrolling at Truman State University.

  • WE = Writing Enhanced
  • (^) - All students must complete Perspectives requirements. Health Science Community Worksite and Public Health concentration students are specifically required to complete BIOL 107 or BIOL 100, STAT 190 and PSYC 166 to fulfill Required Support. The Writing Enhanced (WE) course requirements are met by completing HLTH 320 (as an elective in the major or another WE course in any area), HLTH 349, and JINS 3XX.
  • (*) - CHES Exam = The Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) examination
  • You are encouraged to use these materials in conjunction with the Truman Catalog and Degree Works (available on TruView) as a guide in planning your progress toward completion of degree requirements. The Office of the Registrar is responsible for certifying completion of degree requirements based on requirements specified in the catalog.
