Timothy Farley, Professor of French, holds a Ph.D. from Indiana University and has been at Truman since l990. He teaches courses in 1st, 2nd and 3rd year French classes, as well as upper-level translation classes.. His specialty is foreign language pedagogy. He is currently on sabbatical translating a book of letters written by Jewish detainees who were arrested during the French Occupation.
Within the Department of Education, Dr. Farley serves as Specialty Director for Foreign Languages for Truman's Master of Arts in Education program; he teaches the graduate-level methods course, and supervises teacher candidates during their internship. Since 2005, Dr. Farley has been an Advanced Placement Consultant for French. He teaches AP Summer Institutes for current and future AP teachers.
Dr. Farley is passionnate about teacher training and strives to provide our MAE students with best-practice teaching methods that are harmonious with the ways the mind learns and acquires language.
