Prof. Max Gerhart joined the faculty at Truman State University in the Fall of 2019. His duties include teaching applied lessons in tuba and euphonium as well as teaching studio class.
A multi-faceted performer, Max has appeared with musical acts and ensembles such as The Kansas City Symphony, The Fountain City Brass Band, “Weird Al” Yankovic, and more. Equally comfortable in ensembles large and small, Max regularly performs with chamber ensembles including The Kansas Brass Quintet and The University of Kansas’ faculty brass quintet. In 2019, Max was the featured soloist with The University of Kansas Symphony Orchestra, performing Alexander Arutiunian’s Concerto for Tuba and Orchestra. Max also teaches tuba and euphonium at Missouri State University and is the Principal Tubist in the Springfield Symphony Orchestra.
