Dr. Katherine Jackson is an Associate Professor of Finance in the School of Business. Prior to her arrival in Kirksville, Dr. Jackson was in the School of Management at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Before moving to New York, she was a faculty member in the School of Business at Indiana University South Bend. Dr. Jackson received her bachelor’s in business administration from Francis Marion University and her Ph.D. in Finance from the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Jackson is the author of numerous articles as well as a finance textbook that incorporates collaborative learning techniques. She has given numerous presentations about how to use collaborative learning in business education. She has also given workshops on financial analysis to non-financial executives at several major mid-west corporations. She was previously a member of the board of directors of the Economics Club of Michiana and the Financial Executives’ Institute. Her research interests include mutual fund management and pedagogical issues. Dr. Jackson is the advisor for the Student Run Business Initiatives (SRBI). Katherine and her husband owned a local retail store in Kirksville called Blink of an Eye.
