Josh Maurer joined the Department of Business Administration in 2018, where he teaches management courses. Prior to his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Washington State University, Josh received his M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and a B.S. in Accounting with a minor in Aviation/Airway Science from Winona State University.  Josh has published or presented research pertaining to new venture funding, venture climate, organizational change, team performance, international entrepreneurship and international acquisitions. His current research centers on how first impressions, instinct and external affiliations lead to venture funding in a crowdfunding context.  Professionally, he worked as an auditor interacting with board members, CEOs and entrepreneurs offering advice and witnessing the decision process during times of uncertainty and change. Josh grew up in Wisconsin and would be lying if he said he never wore a cheese hat. He enjoys traveling, camping, flying, boating and most sports.
