Justin Jarvis joined the Truman faculty in 2015. Originally from Southern California, he finished his PhD in economics at the University of California, Irvine. His research topics include studying the behavior of low-income individuals, and providing policy prescriptions to help them.
Dr. Jarvis has conducted international field research in Mexico, Panama, and Ecuador, and has studied the determinants of homelessness in Southern California. He currently teaches introductory economics as well as upper division courses focused on economic development.
Dr. Jarvis loves to spend his free time with his wife (Dennise) and six children (Ezekiel, Genesis, Sarai, Eliana, Moriah, and Olivet), and is happy to call Kirksville his home.
