Honors: Writing Professor of the Year, 2008 and 2009. Order of Omega’s Golden Apple Excellence in Teaching award in 2009 and twice semi-finalist in Truman’s Educator of the Year process. Norman Thomas Memorial Award for poetry from The Iowa Poetry association in 2001.
Rogers teaches writing, creative writing, criticism and literature courses. He is teaching a a Nonfiction Workshop ENG 409 and Creative Writing ENG 204 this semester and COMM 170. Ed is a Faculty Senate alternate and past Faculty Advisor to Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity. He is faculty advisor to Windfall Magazine. He is faculty advisor for Blue Key Honor Society.
Interests include reading, poetry, and grandson Robbie. His work has been published in Green Hills Literary Lantern, Mid-America Poetry Review and other venues. His book, Explaining Satan, Lambert Publishing, came out in 2010. He lives in Kirksville.
