          Dr. Christopher Maglio earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology, a Master’s in Counseling and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology all from Arizona State University. He completed training in professional counseling psychology with the Student Counseling Services at Texas A&M University. He has been at Truman State University since 1992 and is currently a professor in the Department of Education. He previously taught in and directed the Master of Arts in Counseling and the School Psychological Examiner programs at Truman and is now a member of the Assessment and Foundations faculty for Truman’s Master of Arts in Education program. His teaching includes ED 601G Measurement and Evaluation, ED 593G Psychological Foundations of Education and ED 632G Research: Advanced Educational Psychology. His current research focuses on the aassessment and diagnosis of children and adolescents, anxiety disorders, PTSD, grief, loss and bereavement, professional issue in psychology, school counselor training and forensic psychology.

          In addition to his academic work Dr. Maglio is a licensed psychologist who has worked with various state agencies and numerous school districts and courts providing over 6500 psychological evaluations and assessments. He has been declared an “expert witness” in psychological testing, assessment and evaluation in court cases throughout Missouri and Iowa. Dr. Maglio has also been an “expert witness” in a number of Administrative Hearing cases involving professional training and practice and clinical supervision for the Missouri Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Psychology licensure boards.

          Dr. Maglio maintains a clinical practice in which he specializes in providing psychological evaluations and assessments for children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Maglio is a former chairperson and member of both the Missouri Committee for Professional Counselors and the Missouri State Committee of Psychologists. He continues to serve on the Missouri Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board to which he was appointed in 2012 by Governor Nixon.
