I graduated with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from India and completed my post-doctoral research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham, AL, and later at the University of Chicago, Chicago, IL.
Subsequently, I transitioned into nursing and graduated with a Masters's in Nursing degree from Rush University, Chicago, IL in 2018. During the program, at Rush University, I was conferred with the Rush Gerontology Scholar Award for my work with older adults. I have worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) at the Northeast Regional Medical Center, Kirksville MO, and received ‘Employee of the Month’ recognition for March 2021. I am also certified as a Clinical Nurse Leader.
I completed my Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) (Family Nurse Practitioner track) from the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO in 2023. I was nominated as one of the three DNP students for the 2023 Sinclair School of Nursing and Nursing Alumni Organization’s DNP Student Award for Overall Excellence.
The Sinclair School of Nursing, University of Missouri, has awarded me the Alpha Lota President’s Scholarship Fund, Charles and Josie Smith Sinclair Perpetual Fund for spring 2021, and the George and Eva Jo Spalding Memorial Scholarship Fund for fall 2022.
