TRUCARE SERVICE EVENT: MARDI GRAS PURINA PET PARADE VOLUNTEERS

FEBRUARY 24, 2019
10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The Alumni Association invites everyone to participate in the 2nd annual TruCare, an international event where the Truman State University community comes together to volunteer locally to show Bulldog spirit by paying it forward. The St. Louis Alumni Chapter will have their TruCare service event with Open Door Animal Sancturary (ODAS) at the St. Louis Mardi Gras Pet Parade. Volunteers are encouraged to show Bulldog pride by wearing University or purple attire.

Volunteers can either work the registration booth from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. or walk in the parade from 12 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Parade walkers will carry ODAS signs, throw beads, and/or collect donations from the crowd. The parade route is approximately .7 miles. In your RSVP, please indicate if you would prefer to volunteer at the registration table or be a parade walker. Truman Alumni can register online and bring their own dogs to participate in the Mardi Gras Purina Pet Parade by making a $10 donation to ODAS.

While Truman students are gearing up for the Big Event in Kirksville, we’re excited to bring that same TruCare spirit of volunteering to St. Louis. See you at the Pet Parade! If you aren’t able to attend the TruCare event but volunteer throughout the month of March, please log your service hours online. For more information about TruCare, please visit the TruCare website.

Interested in attending? RSVP by Friday, February 20 to the Office of Advancement at (800) 452-6678.
