Truman alumnus Scott Smith (BA ’96, MA ’98) will give a talk entitled “Literary Flexing in Anglo-Latin Charters,” sponsored by the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Interdisciplinary Studies. Smith, Associate Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Penn State University, will discuss the highly embellished prose of certain Medieval property deeds and the development of different registers of Latin in the Medieval period.
