Communication Disorders Association (CoDA) Conference

The 13th annual Communication Disorders Association (CoDA) Conference will take place from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Oct. 16 in the Student Union Building Activities Room.

This event is a workshop for speech-language pathologists, general education teachers, special education teachers, reading specialists and more. This year’s conference will feature Jennie Bjorem M.A., CCC-SLP, an alumna of Truman State University’s Communication Disorders program. Jennie’s passion and area of expertise is in Childhood Apraxia of Speech. She is recognized for her advanced training and expertise in Childhood Apraxia of Speech by Apraxia Kids and Childhood Apraxia Treatment. She travels the world speaking on the topic of CAS assessment and intervention. Jennie has been in private practice for 21 years and continues to carry a small caseload of clients with Childhood
Apraxia of Speech. Jennie is also the owner of Bjorem Speech® and Bjorem Literacy TM, and the author of the Bjorem Speech Sound Cues.

Jennie will first be speaking on the dynamic assessment of CAS from 8:45 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. From 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., she will be discussing target selection and goal writing. Finally, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Jennie will be speaking about evidence based treatment approaches.
