10-Minute Play Festival

Truman State University’s Theatre Department will present a 10-Minute Play Festival of original student work in the James G. Severns Theater, Ophelia Parrish Fine Arts Center. The nine plays on the program were crafted and refined by students in the upper division Playwriting class, under the supervision of Assistant Professor David Charles Goyette. Eventually the scripts were passed off to Professor Dana Smith’s Staged Readings class; students in that class (along with a few other volunteers) will perform a staged reading of the plays.

Our students are excited to share these plays with you as the product of this collaboration. We invite you all to join us and experience original work from these talented students with the Department of Theatre.

Admission to the festival is free and no tickets are required; seating is limited to a first-come, first-served basis.

The plays are targeted toward an adult audience; some plays contain strong language, violence, and adult themes.
