First Americans Scholarship

The First Americans Scholarship at Truman State University is awarded to a student with Native American ancestry. It includes tuition, room and board. The scholarship is renewable with a new recipient selected every four years.

Criteria

  1. Student with Native American ancestry
  2. Financial need
  3. Preference given to first-generation students
  4. Transfer students are eligible

Preference will be given to students who are enrolled members of a federally recognized Native American tribe. Special consideration is given to students who live on or near a reservation or have immediate family members who grew up on or near a reservation. Recipients are required to file the FAFSA each year.

Completion of your undergraduate application for admission to Truman State University provides automatic consideration for this scholarship as well as other automatic and competitive scholarships without requiring additional steps from you.
