Truman Communication Disorders graduate students won second place in a statewide “Quest for the Cup” trivia bowl. The competition was part of the Missouri Speech-Language-Hearing Association annual convention, which took place virtually this year. Nine programs total participated. Graduate students Katie Krull, team captain Savanna Ott, Amy Pattee and Gretchen Sadler brought home the second-place prize. Truman is one of the nation’s top colleges for students seeking to earn their degree at an affordable price, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company included Truman in its annual college guide, “best value colleges.” Of 650 institutions, 209 were selected to be on the list for this year’s project.

The finals for this year’s Bulldog B.I.T.E. Pitch Competition will be streamed on Facebook live at 4 p.m. April 9. This year, 24 students or teams submitted projects for the first round of the competition. Judges reviewed and scored submissions and the top six entries were advanced to the finals. Finalists include: Mitchell Kronsbein, Esther Lee, Mackenzie Miller, Victor Wei, Brandon Winston and Logan Yardley.

Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams closed out the regular season with wins against Southwest Baptist, Feb. 27, and will now host GLVC tournament games March 3. The women’s team improved to 14-3 on the season. As the No. 2 seed in the GLVC tournament, they will host Maryville at 5:15 p.m. The No. 3 ranked men’s team notched their 13th straight victory to improve to 18-1 on the season. Researchers from Baylor University and the University of Northern Iowa used annual data released by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) to examine the data of 521 large and medium-sized accounting programs from 2019 and provided a top 40 for both categories, as well as overall. For this testing window, Truman ranked No. 1 overall with a CPA success index rating of 1.000.

Kirksville's Rotary Park was recognized by Missouri Life Magazine as one of the top five locations in the state to go sledding.

Truman won both portions of the Top Dog Challenge against the Greyhounds of the University of Indianapolis. Truman swept both categories with a total of 1,578 donors compared to 432 for UIndy, and $7,852 against $7,131 for the Greyhounds. All of the money raised by Truman will be split between The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri and the Adair County Humane Society.
