      Truman’s forensic union (speech and debate team) brought home two tournament championships in debate and numerous other awards at the 21st annual Gorlok Gala, hosted by Webster University in St. Louis. In a field of 42 schools from 17 different states, Truman forensics had its best performance in the last five years.       Truman jumped 16 spots on Kiplinger’s list of 500 Best College Values for 2019, coming in as the No. 55 school in the nation.       The Mock Trial Team attended the Mid-Missouri Invitational hosted by Columbia College. The mock trial A-team had a record of 6-2 and placed fourth overall out of 26 teams, with their two losses being one point away from placing first and second. First-year students Emma Mitchem and Rowan Wilson ranked top in their rounds and won an Outstanding Attorney award and Outstanding Witness award, respectively.

      More than 40 entries were submitted for this year’s Bulldog BITE pitch competition. Students submitted their concept or idea for a product, service or project in a video pitch. First round judges then reviewed and scored the video submissions and the top six scoring entries were advanced to the finals. Finalists include: Danny Alter, Allee Bernier, William Fries, Joseph Lomo-Mainoo, Mackenzie Matthews and Kailey Micek. The finals will take place at 4:00 Friday, April 12 in the Student Union

      Softball player, Christa Reisinger, has been named to the Schutt Sports/NFCA DII Player of the Year Top 25 for the third-straight season. Reisinger was also awarded second team All-American and Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Division II Championship. Emma Walbert was named Freshman of the Year and third team.
