Are you intimidated by the weight room? Unsure of how to use the weight machines? Want to learn how to use dumbbells or free weights? A weight room instructor will empower you by providing basic strength training information, demonstrating how to use the resistance training equipment, and reviewing weight room etiquette and rules. Come ready to learn and leave confident.
Tru-Strength is a FREE program offered to students, faculty, staff, and designated guests.
Orientations are by appointment only. You may schedule a 1-on-1 orientation or sign-up with a friend who has similar goals. Please email the Fitness-Wellness Director at firstname.lastname@example.org indicating your interest in Tru-Strength and include (a) 2-3 dates and times that you're available and (b) what you'd like to learn. The Fitness-Wellness Director will respond to your request via email and will forward your request to a Tru-Strength instructor who will coordinate a time to meet with you (times are based on your schedules).
On the day of your Tru-Strength orientation, please arrive a few minutes early, wear exercise clothes, tennis shoes, and bring a pencil and paper if you wish. Meet in the conference room (2nd floor) of the Student Recreation Center unless told otherwise by your Tru-Strength instructor.
